Debugging

1. Open CDS in different browser types so you can have multiple screens open

2. Create a copy of the file that you want to work on (e.g. edit code on file1.pl vs file.pl), and when you’re done, just rename them back.

3. Look at SELECT statements inside of the code to see which tables are relevant to the page

4. If you go to some page and you need to debug it and you don’t know what the code of the program is, you can search for “=t1 “ and it gives you report abbreviation data

5. Sometimes, we want to “edit” information on a SUBMITTED BUT NOT APPROVED document
   1. The only way to trigger a save event is to:
      1. Change the information
      2. Look for a green box on the page OR a link that says “Upload documents” and edit the value. This triggers the save
         1. The upload documents link in reports always does a save
      3. Then edit the value back
